I get it, the car is king in Big D. However, Interstate 345 is at the end of its life cycle. Which is more embarrassing: removing the freeway at the ire of commuters or the freeway collapsing, putting commuters at risk. I have some familiarity with The Metroplex, and just wondering: how many people commute from north to south (the 75 south to IH 45 (or US 175) via IH 345)? Keep in mind, through traffic (i.e., trucks) can still take the 635/20 combination to the east around the city. Hiccups over an expired viaduct take priority over reconnecting Deep Ellum to downtown? Dallas, you’re missing out on a great cityscape.
