Westwood Bike Lane: Such a Good Thing, But People Gotta Hate

Opinion: Climate Change Leaves No Room for Phonies: The Westwood Bike Lane Represents the Future–or Failure–of Los Angeles

Westwood bike lane proposal ignites strong feelings on both sides

The UCLA campus is a 10-15 minute bike ride from the Westwood Boulevard Expo Line Station. One would think it would be a good idea that a bike lane locate on this collector street. However, Councilmember Paul Koretz and the NIMBYs along Westwood Boulevard have zero interest in this. Something tells me this will take time. Think about it: the Expo Line is ten years late for all the chaicanery of the Cheviot Hills residents. The ex-Red Car Line has been dormant for decades and people became used to it. Once a rail right-of-way, always a rail right-of-way.
